The problem with SMTPs

Good day.
I combined two iredmail mailservers into one running iRedAdmin-Pro.
I transferred the contents of mailboxes from /../vmail/vmail1/domain/ to my main server and transferred the MySQL tables roundcubemail.users, roundcubemail.identities, vmail.mailbox and vmail.forwardings.
On both servers smtps sending was enabled (TCP 465). This is enabled in the postfix and firewalld settings.
After merging, the transferred accounts cannot send mail with SSL (465), they receive the error
"554 5.7.1 <user @ domain>: Recipient address rejected: Sender is not the same as SMTP authenticate username".

Accounts that were originally on the server and new accounts any domain can use SSL SMTPs (465).
I checked the account settings Sending mails via SMTP over TLS / SSL enabled, like everyone else. In the vmail.mailbox table, the parameter enablesmtpsecured = 1 for all accounts.

I found

but I only use mailbox, not alias, not maillist .
After changing the SMTPS client settings from SSL 465 to STARTLS 587, the client starts working instantly.

What did I do wrong and is it possible to return everything?

HI. I recently upgraded from 0.9.7 to 0.9.8 using the page found below.

Everything seems to work fine. however when I go into a user and try to tick/untick some options, it comes back as "Profile updated success", however the items I changed are still the same. EG: untick "BCC outgoing emails to other address", Press Save, "Profile updated success" appears at the top of the screen, but "BCC outgoing emails to other address" is still ticked.

Only thing I can find in the log is

MX Backup issue

We have 2 x iRedmail Servers which installed iRedAdmin-Pro, we are planning to relocated these 2 servers to another location.

Could we create 1 x iRedmail Server with iRedAdmin only as a Backup MX to provide MX backup services for these 2 servers while relocating?

Does the MX Backup support different Master iRedmail Server IP? For example:

Server A original IP : 1.1.1.1 will be changed to 10.10.10.10
Server B original IP : 2.2.2.2 will be changed to 20.20.20.20
MX Backup Server IP : 3.3.3.3 (will not be change)

The domains in MX Backup Server I should point to new IP right?
Domain A point to 10.10.10.10
Domain B point to 20.20.20.20

And which firewall port I need to open for the MX Backup Server?

Emails received and shown as delivered by postfix in log but are not on server or show up in email client. i have no supporting log file or files with any errors as to why the emails disappear after they show as delivered. this is a random issue that is for one user account so far but happens enough it is interfering with workflow. the emails are not even in the email accounts folder in the dir tree under vmail.

things Ive change in the last month:
created a symlink to a user account in /home due to /root partition filling up becuase it was setup with a smaller partition when Centos was installed
upgraded packages via yum which installed a newer uwsgi package back on 9-24-18

the problem started from what i can tell 3 to 4 weeks ago due to the amount of complaints of emails not showing up

any ideas would be helpful

Hello,

I check the log of fail2ban and I saw this line :
6-INFO Nov 12 06:44:15 mail fail2ban-server[131749]:  Found no accessible config files for 'filter.d/sshd-ddos' under /etc/fail2ban #
6-INFO Nov 12 06:44:15 mail fail2ban-server[131749]:  Errors in jail 'sshd-ddos'. Skipping... #
And in fact this file does not exit so fail2ban is not running for sshd-ddos

root@mail:/etc/fail2ban# fail2ban-client status
Status

Is it normal ? Where could I find this conf file ?

Mail blacklisted suddenly for local accounts - HELP NEEDED

Hi after spammassisan update , emails started to be denied with message (i replaced emails with  LOCAL_EMAIL (managed by iredmail) or GMAIL_EMAIL(external) not to show them here):

554 5.7.1 <EMAIL_HERE>: Recipient address rejected: Blacklisted

I found out in /var/log/iredapd/iredapd.log

I follow the doc https://docs.iredmail.org/enable.smtps.html to enable smtps
I copy and paste at the end of /etc/postfix/main.cf the lines starting from 465
#open port 465
465     inet  n       -       n       -       -       smtpd
  -o syslog_name=postfix/smtps
  -o smtpd_tls_wrappermode=yes
  -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes
  -o smtpd_client_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject
  -o content_filter=smtp-amavis:[127.0.0.1]:10026

and I add also the line in iptables
# smtp, submission
-A INPUT -p tcp --dport 25 -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p tcp --dport 587 -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p tcp --dport 465 -j ACCEPT

I restart both services postfix and iptables but Iredmail is not listen on port 465 (Check in netstat) port is closed

What could I check to find where is my mistake ?

More information :

In fact when I add the line find in the documentation and starting by 465 in main.cf I have the following issue :

Hi,

I'm trying to block specific incoming attachments (.doc) with amavis for a particular domain. I followed this post https://forum.iredmail.org/topic3734-ir … users.html but the blocked attachment passes through amavis.

Entry in amavisd.conf

I`m trying migrate users accounts with passwords from ldap-server to other system. I have ready text file with content silimar to this:

After this I dedoce "karol" password with command:

After removing all blacklist / whitelist entries I am still receiving this error when attempting to send an email to an address that was previously blacklisted.

SMTP Error (554): Failed to add recipient "thomas@ansspc.com" (5.7.1 <thomas@ansspc.com>: Recipient address rejected: Blacklisted).

pregreet bans not showing in iptables

Hi,

I am seeing plenty of PREGREET bans from my /var/log/syslog eg:

Illegal address syntax

Some users report that they cannot send emails via outlook. We checked the maillog and found that the reason is a single quotes inside the mail address as below:

Nov 20 23:12:02 mx postfix/submission/smtpd[31661]: warning: Illegal address syntax from aaa.aaa.com[1.1.1.1] in RCPT command: <'bbb@gmail.com'>

We checked the end user's outlook, they add the mail address normally and nothing special. But don't know why some of the email address they added have a single quotes inside when sending out. It's also happened on other user who using outlook 2010 and 2016.

Is it possible auto filter the single quotes out if any when sending out email?

Hi,

Unfortunately, 10 days ago, our employee has inadvertently changed an account's quota from 4gb to 5mb. As you guess. As you might guess, there are several emails has returned back as "Quota exceeded". However, I see these emails under System > Mail Logs > Received Mails.

But, there is no any file under "cur" directory.

Are these mails located in the server? If yes, please help me about location or any information.

I can not access the administration website, the error is "internal server error".

I'm trying to figure out the proper settings for marking and deleting spam messages.
I would like to have anything over 6 (could be any number) marked with [SPAM] in the subject, and anything over 12 discarded. I don't see anywhere in the admin panel to set these two parameters, as well having the ability for users to have their own custom settings of these numbers.

Where would I configure these settings?

Hello,

We are unable to connect to iredadmin-pro plateform.  We have upgraded Debian packages as usual and we are having the following errors in the /var/log/apache2/error.log:

[Thu Nov 29 01:31:44.366100 2018] [wsgi:error] [pid 6968] [client] Truncated or oversized response headers received from daemon process 'iredadmin': /usr/share/apache2/iredadmin/iredadmin.py
[Thu Nov 29 01:31:45.259981 2018] [core:notice] [pid 6926] AH00052: child pid 8143 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

I have added the "WSGIApplicationGroup %{GLOBAL}" in /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/iredadmin.conf and restart apache2 services.  Still we cannot reach iredadmin login page and it says 500 internal server error. 

We are using: Apache/2.4.25 (Debian) mod_auth_pgsql/2.0.3 OpenSSL/1.0.2l mod_wsgi/4.5.11 Python/2.7

Your help will be much appreciated to resolve the problem.

following successful installation from my iRedMail Pro tar bundle, I log in with my "postmaster" credentials to iRedAdmin and the splash screen tells me I need to upgrade to iRedMail Pro.  I also don't seem to have the sources promised with the purchase.

Does anyone know what I'm missing?
